On Sept. 2, 1973, Irene, 35 and her husband Orval (Buzz) Wyman, 40 , of Columbia Falls, Montana were ‘on a return trip home from Orofino, Kaho on highway 11, At Pierce, Wdaho they took a gravel road leading to Superior, Montana. On the way they decided to take a short cut on a side road 20 miles shorter than the main gravel road. A sign stated that this road was to be used only in dry weather.
